Revised and Expanded 4th Edition.

This book is concurrent with Sunset (Pact Arcanum Book 1) in story continuity.

Child of Twilight

Venice, Italy, 2039. When Michael Danvers witnesses a vampire attack, his latent ability to shapeshift awakens. Revealed as a Sentinel, the natural enemy of Nightwalkers, 13-year-old Michael must turn his back on his family and his safe, predictable life. But a supernatural battlefield is no place for a child, not even a genius like Michael. Betrayed by his own kind, he leaves Earth behind, hoping to find a new path with the Spacer Guild – and the stars.

Tempered by Moonlight

Relocating to the Citadel, Michael quickly makes a name for himself at the Spacer Guild Academy. But each advancement means less to him than the friendships he acquires, of fellow cadets William and Ariel, even as Michael is promoted above them.

Forged in Starlight

Everyone had plans for Michael’s future his parents, the Sentinels, the Guild—even his best friend, Will. But Michael takes control of his destiny, and when called upon to make a fateful decision with countless lives hanging in the balance, the only sense of honor that matters is his own.

Once you pick this book up and start reading, you won't be able to put it down until it's finished. I know this for a fact as I'm sitting here in bed at 1:AM with burning eyes that I've already flushed twice with saline & too many times to count with tears. I highly recommend that you get the Audible version along with the ebook, so you can still listen to the book while mopping up your eyes with the Whispersynch thing let's you move seemlessly back & forth between the two. (Who ever invented that should be considered for Sainthood, or its equivalent in the Literary World.

If you read "The Blurb" you know this book runs concurrently with the first book. It takes the actions from one situation involving the Main Characters and what is in the original book a tertiary character and expounds on it so you can more fully understand that character and his motivations when he is faced with a life altering experience. It also gives more insight into the significance of what is happening in that scene at that moment in time while also inserting a good dose of foreshadowing for those of us who don't have any precognitive abilities.

I'm glad that I took the time to read this book. I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't recommend once again that you read it too.

Cathedral of the Sky Pact Arcanum edition by Arshad Ahsanuddin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Another great book in this series reading about all their lives and the different story lines has been great thanks
this book does what most books don't. this book pulls a smaller character out of the original series and takes the time to flesh out the whole story of this character. instead of being a supporting character you know and feel them completely in the original story.
Very entertaining touched on a variety of subjects to jumpstart functioning for humanity as a whole. Fictional today is tomorrow's reality.
Highly recommended. A riveting read that I could not put down!
Michael Danvers was such an important Pact Arcanum character, and yet, we knew very little about this hero. That oversight has been corrected with this book. We now have the whole tale of a youth who kindled at age thirteen and went on to pilot spaceships and save the Free People. Great storytelling!
The Pact Arcanum books have been among the best books I've ever read. They are well written, thoughtful, and intelligent, and quite frequently surprising. I thought I was sick of seeing vampires everywhere, and didn't realize that in these books vampires played a significant role along with some other fabled beings. But once I got started, I couldn't put these books down. I bought the first one, read it within a few days, bought the second book, then the third, then the fourth, then the fifth. They were that good. I didn't read anything else between them.

I just wish there were more. Fortunately, there is another series by Arshad Absanuddin called "The Interscission Project", and I just downloaded the first one. Can't wait!
Mr Ahsanuddin is a sly fox he has taken a side character of "Sunset" and has exploited his great potential by writing an entracte about him.
He does that with exactly the same flair for the outrageously melodramatic that was such a relevant asset of Sunset. Emotions run constantly high in "Cathedral of the Sky" and the ending had me sobbing.

Being a shorter (rather expensive for its length, I must say) and later effort, the author was able to amend the many tiny inconsistencies that disturbed the flow of volume one. The only one that remains concerns the status of the Space Guild, a supposedly civilian organization that is run like a militaristic one.
Another issue I have is more a matter of taste. As in Sunset the mystical/religious element is extremely relevant to this story as well. It is true that it allows the author to give us a happy ending of sorts, but I still find it too easy and plot disrupting a device to be acceptable in a fully mature narrative.
Once you pick this book up and start reading, you won't be able to put it down until it's finished.
